New Music From Alisa Plus New ZOEgirl Album!

29 May

I know I said I would never update this site, and I even thought of deleting it many times. Boy, am I glad I didn’t!

First off, Alisa Childers has posted two new songs you can download for free on her Reverbnation site. The songs are “The Love of Jesus Christ” and “Until the Storm Blows By.” These are her first new songs in four years.

Secondly, Alisa confirmed on her Facebook page that after almost 7 years of inactivity, ZOEgirl will reunite to record a lullaby album. I do not think that this is a “permanent” reunion. I think this is just a one-time thing. She also hints that some of the songs may just be slower renditions of ZOEgirl songs.

From Facebook:

The girls and I have been talking for years about recording a lullaby album comprised of songs we’ve written, old Zoegirl songs and scripture put to music. Now we’re finally doing it! Please “like” the facebook page below to get announcements and updates……

Since 2009, I was hoping for news like this, but never thought it would actually happen. They did mention they were thinking about a project like this in the Brian Mason Reunion interview in 2011, but this exceeds all expectations.

In other band news, Chrissy is working with Jamie Grace on her new album and Alisa is working with Tammy Trent on her new album, Sunny Days, due out on July 1st.

Also, a couple of weeks ago, the girls performed together for the first time since December 2006 at a body image conference for young girls at the Deer Run Campground in Tennessee. The picture below is from that event.

Goodbye

This site is official closed. I will not be updating it ever again.

You can still find out what Kristin, Chrissy and Alisa are up to at Cross & Culture.

Farewell. It’s been a nice four years.

New Alisa Childers Song, “The Love of Jesus Christ” And Documentary

27 Dec

Within minutes of posting my “goodbye” to this site, I discovered that Alisa Childers, has recorded a new song called “The Love of Jesus Christ”. The song is still being mixed and will soon be available for download, but you can see Alisa perform it as well as share stories of her music in a new documentary by Ryan Leuning of Ambush Documentaries.

Site Complete

27 Dec

Today, I declare foreverZOE to be the most complete ZOEgirl archive ever. Today I added lyrics to COLMANblue’s two songs, “Hey” and “Love Is” and I completed transcribing the album liner notes. Anything you want to know about ZOEgirl is all in this one location.

Ideally, I would have liked to upload the ZOEgirl fan book and P/V/G sheet music book, but there are copyright laws involved in that and plus, they were difficult to scan.

This year was perhaps the most uneventful year of ZOEgirl news. No new music, no exciting announcements, nothing. Kristin did a concert with Kerrie Roberts and Alisa hinted she’s working on something (which is to be expected, it’s not really news). But that was it. There was the passing of Norman Miller, but that is not about ZOEgirl themselves.

This year is also 6 years since ZOEgirl broke up, which is the same amount of time they’ve been performing in the public eye. It’s an interesting milestone.

When I first opened this site, I felt strange working on it considering the girls broke up, but there was tons of news to report, with their solo careers and all. But then I reminded myself that the reason this site exists is to celebrate ZOEgirl’s achievements and to be a source of information. So many people have found this site useful to them and it answered their questions about ZOEgirl’s breakup, or helped them find lyrics to songs that are unavailable elsewhere. For that, the journey was worth it.

Until there is a new update from the girls regarding music…farewell.

Feel free to leave comments, I will see them and reply when possible.

Thank you Kristin, Chrissy and Alisa, for taking me on an amazing musical journey with you these past 5 years. I’m glad I could do what I could to help promote your careers and music and whatever it is that you choose to do, I will follow and support you in it. Your music changed my life. I first discovered it in high school, when I had no idea what I was doing with my life. Now I understand the importance of being a “Good Girl”, that I should never feel “Plain” and to worship the Lord “With all of My Heart”. Until “One Day” when He returns, I will follow and praise His “Beautiful Name” and “Live Life”…the life that is ZOE.

Kristin Schweain Comments On the Passing of Norman Miller

4 Dec

Those of you who follow my Christian music Blog know that legendary CCM manager, Norman Miller, passed away yesterday due to cancer. This is extremely relevant to ZOEgirl fans as he was the one who had the idea of creating an all-female pop group targeted at young girls and asked Alisa to join.

Earlier today, Kristin tweeted her thoughts on Mr. Miller:

13 Nov

Hey guys, I uploaded a new video to our YouTube account (did you know we have one?) of Kristin leading worship in 2009 at the Hanover Lutheran Women’s Retreat. This video is available online on their website, but its so beautiful I decided to upload it to YouTube so more people can see it. I also uploaded her full performance where she sings This is Life, Lemonade, Emma Prayed, Men of War and Amazed.
